At the age of 9, Felicia Mckiver
(“Felicious”) persuaded her father to
put her in piano lessons after being
intrigued by the church organist.  She
studied for 2 years with her school
music teacher and took lessons with
the church organist.  She soon found
that her passion came through her own
ear and began to write her own
music.

By the tender age of 16, she joined a
group called “The Cuzz Band” and
learned the art or programming and
sequencing keyboards.  She moved on
to learn contemporary jazz and play
with several other local groups in the
tri-state area to broaden her horizons.
She would also watch the late jazz
pianist Eddie Buster and listened to his
words of wisdom.  Eddie Buster
encouraged her to sing while playing
piano.
Felicious dreamed of playing her R&B, contemporary jazz, folk, rock and pop music with other
females and soon found herself auditioning for a record company in Decatur, Georgia (Stargate
Records).  She landed the job and immediately prepared for a European tour with an all-female
band.  She introduced her originals to the band and they immediately recorded their CD.  The
band included Grammy-nominated drummer, Gaylynne Mckinney and guitarist Hideko Mills,
both of Detroit, Michigan.  Felicious sought out agents in the Atlanta area and began to play for
Don Rivers Productions, the former management for India Aire.  The group later named
themselves “Shegon Tribe”.  Felicia has played for Shirley Franklin’s (Mayor of Atlanta)
inaugural ball and political venues at the eyes of Chris Tucker, Andrew Young, Cecily Tyson,
etc.  She also played for Bill Cosby’s organization, “100 Black Men”, and played side by side
with Arrested Development, The Ojays, Bernie Mac, along with many other celebrities.  She also
regularly played in the former Wilwood Restaurant on Peachtree Street .
When Felicia returned to her hometown in 2001, she soon formed
her own group, which is now, called “Felicious”.  Felicious plays all
over the State of Connecticut and continues to travel throughout the
U.S..  She has recently returned from playing on the Royal Carribean
ship, "Enchantment of the Seas" which toured Coa Coa Cay, Belize,
Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Nassau, Key West, etc.  Felicia has a 6-piece
band and also performs a solo, duo and trio act and is currently
working on her CD.
